Supporting Mobility and Access: I AM Team Funds Minivan for Youth Transportation

In March 2025, the Bill Wilson Center invested in a Toyota Sienna minivan to provide safe, reliable transportation for youth. Recognizing transportation barriers that affect school attendance, appointments, and enrichment activities, the organization launched a fundraising campaign. The Sienna’s purchase reflects BWC’s commitment to removing a hurdle, ensuring every child can access resources they deserve.

Outfitted with seat belts for eight passengers, the Toyota Sienna offers space for individuals. The vehicle includes child safety locks, a rear-view camera, and LATCH anchors for car seats, meeting safety standards. Sliding doors and a wide interior simplify boarding, especially for children with mobility challenges. Climate control and GPS navigation ensure comfort and punctuality on every trip.

Since deployment, the minivan has logged hundreds of miles, transporting youth to school, programs and etc. The reliable vehicle has enabled field trips, campus visits, and emergency pickups, ensuring no child misses critical moments. By removing transit barriers, BWC strengthens trust and consistency in services.

BWC extends deep gratitude to the I AM Team who made this acquisition possible. Their investment drives change in children’s lives. Moving forward, BWC will schedule regular maintenance clinics with volunteer mechanics and track usage to optimize routes. Plans include exploring ride-share partnerships and additional vehicle donations to eliminate mobility challenges for youth.
